Project Idea
Impact sourcing involves employing socio-economically disadvantaged people with limited opportunity for sustainable employment as principal workers in a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) setup to provide information-based services.
The idea is at concept stage and I have yet to setup formally though I have the infrastructure in place (office space, fiber internet connection, desktop computers and access to large pool of educated and skilled youth who are seeking meaningful employment). Ideally what I seek are co founders to work with on the setup and structure of the enterprise. The enterprise will be setup as a B-corp upon certification by the nonprofit organization B Lab.
The focus of the social enterprise will be to connect young people from the base of the pyramid in Kenya to digital work (data entry, accounting, transcription and Online Research and Content Management), in a work-study program.
Project Benefits to the Euphoria Community
This project provides a unique opportunity for Euphoria social entrepreneurs to work with us to develop and implement a social enterprise training program for training youth in Kenya on social enterprise development through our innovative concept dubbed Social Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA).
The Social Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA) provide participants with an intensive, “hands-on” course focusing on the creation, evaluation, development, and launch readiness of a new business or social venture, with a focus on youth.
It will be a three month training course that will be delivered via web or training master facilitators to teach in a classroom.
